Arizona audit auditor to audit adult-themed porn websites for 2020
Phoenix, AZ – In what could be a first for the state, Arizona Auditing Authority (AAA) will audit adult websites that host pornography.
The new audit will cover a broad range of adult-related businesses, from porn studios to online communities, including adult video services, erotic magazines, dating sites and chat rooms, according to a press release from the Arizona Attorney General’s office.
The auditing will take place during the third quarter of 2020.
According to the statement, the state auditor will be conducting an audit for each of the following categories:Adult content – sites with adult content including adult movies, adult videos, and/or adult content;Adult content platforms – websites that have hosted adult content on their websites or in their apps and that allow users to watch adult content and engage in adult activities.
Adult content services – websites with adult entertainment content such as adult videos and adult chat rooms;Adult entertainment businesses – adult entertainment websites that allow adults to interact with each other through a site, app or platform, and are not operated by adult entertainment businesses.
The auditing of adult websites is expected to begin the third week of November 2020.
The state auditor is responsible for ensuring that all state and local tax revenues are being used efficiently and efficiently.
According the press release, the auditing includes an investigation into whether adult entertainment companies comply with the Arizona Fair Use Act and with state and federal laws regarding the display and use of copyrighted material and content that is harmful to minors.
An examination of the audited adult websites will be done by an independent third-party auditor to ensure that the adult content websites are complying with the requirements of the Arizona Code of Regulations.
The audit will also include an examination of how adult websites are used and maintained to ensure compliance with Arizona laws regarding age verification, advertising, social media and content.
The investigation will examine the extent to which the audits were completed and whether any violations of state and/ or federal laws were found.
